NOTE:

Two opportunities to pray:

Leaders only: Please be available at the end of services to pray for those who come forward. If you are not actively serving during the service you are attending, make it a priority to head to the front when the invitation is given. Your presence matters!

North Attleboro Leaders and members: If you or any member of your group who currently serves is available, there is an opportunity to meet for prayer in the conference room off the break room during the second and third services.  Please see Doug and Joanie White or Felix Shyllon if you would like to be a part of that ministry.

Please note: if you have a member who is not currently serving and would like to be part of the prayer during the service team, please have them take the appropriate steps to become a serve team member.

NORTH ATTLEBORO

Prayer at the Altar – AFTER SERVICES

If possible, please make an effort to be at the altar after this service to pray for others.

Your presence makes a difference—thank you for serving!

**Please read all scripture in the ESV, unless otherwise noted.**

**The Leader prompts help you, as the leader, move the conversation along.**

Key Verse: Hebrews 11

Fun Icebreaker:

If you were welcoming a new neighbor with a basket of three different items from your home that reflect who you are—no food or Bibles allowed—what would you choose, and why?

Opening Prayer:
Father, thank You for bringing us together. Help us understand more deeply what Jesus has done for us. Open our hearts to Your Word and help us speak honestly, listen with care, and encourage one another. Show us how to walk in freedom and find belonging in Your family. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Hebrews 11:28-31 ESV

Egypt was like an escape room for the Israelites.  They were locked in Egypt; there were no hints to help them get out.

John 17:15-16 ESV; Galatians 1:4 ESV

Jesus does not just take us off the planet.  We can be in the world but not be pulled in by it.

Galatians 1:4 ESV

Egypt was a country under God’s judgment, controlled by someone who thinks they owned them. Egypt never once felt like home to the Israelites.

Everybody in this room is carrying 3 questions:

1. Am I okay with God?

2. Can I ever really get free of my old life?

3. Where do I belong?

Q. Which of these three questions feels most personal to you right now, and how is it affecting your walk with God?

Leader Prompt:
Allow people to share honestly without feeling pressured. Encourage them to consider where they need to trust Jesus—for assurance in their relationship with God, freedom from their old life, or a place to belong in His family.

How does our faith in God get us out of the world?

1. When God sees the BLOOD, judgment passes OVER.

Exodus 12:12-13 ESV

God’s plan might sound strange. It may not have seemed like a rescue plan to the Israelites.

When God sees the blood, He sees the faithfulness.

God doesn’t check the HOUSE. He checks the DOOR.

Leviticus 17:11 ESV; Hebrews 9:22 ESV

John 1:29 ESV; Romans 5:9 ESV

Exodus 12:22 ESV; Exodus 12:11 ESV

Q. Where are you still trying to earn God’s acceptance, and how would relying on Jesus’ sacrifice change the way you live this week?

Leader Prompt:
Remind the group that the blood on the door marked the Israelites’ protection from judgment. Help them consider whether they are trusting Jesus’ sacrifice or their own goodness for acceptance with God.

Practical Application:
Read Romans 5:9 ESV this week. When guilt or pressure to prove yourself arises, thank Jesus for His sacrifice and trust Him. Let that assurance move you toward obedience out of gratitude.

How does our faith in God get us out of the world?

2. When I go through the WATER, my old master can’t follow me THROUGH.

Exodus 14:7-8 NLT; Exodus 14:11-12 ESV

The Israelites were not even out of the water yet, and they already wanted to go back to Egypt because it was familiar.  They were scared because they did not know what was on the other side of the water.

Exodus 14:13-14 ESV

Exodus 14:30 ESV

The blood handled the judgment. The WATER cut them off from the old master.

1 Corinthians 10:1-2 ESV; Colossians 2:12 ESV; Galatians 3:27 ESV

Q. What from your old life are you tempted to return to when following God gets difficult, and what would choosing freedom in Christ look like instead?

Leader Prompt:
Remind the group that the Israelites wanted to return to Egypt when they became afraid. Help them recognize familiar habits or attitudes they turn to under pressure and consider how belonging to Christ changes their response.

Practical Application:
Identify one situation that tempts you to return to an old pattern. Plan a different response before it happens—pray, act on biblical truth, or reach out to a trusted believer for support. Practice that response this week.

How does our faith in God get us out of the world?

3. When I come out, God welcomes me IN.

Joshua 2:15 ESV; Joshua 2:9-11 ESV

Hebrews 11:31 ESV; Joshua 2:18 ESV

Walls FALL to OBEDIENCE that looks RIDICULOUS.

We all have walls between us and something or someone else.

Joshua 6:25 ESV; Matthew 1:5 ESV; John 1:12 ESV; Hebrews 10:24-25 ESV; Hebrews 13:2 ESV; Romans 15:7 ESV

Rahab, a Canaanite prostitute, is in the family line of Jesus.

She welcomed God’s people when it cost her everything, and God’s people welcomed her in when she had nothing else to offer.

That is what belonging ot a family means.

Q. Who might God be asking you to welcome or reach out to, even if it feels uncomfortable or others don’t understand, and what step of obedience could you take this week?

Leader Prompt:
Remind the group that Rahab was welcomed among God’s people despite her past. Help them consider where fear, assumptions, or others’ opinions might keep them from reaching out to someone God is asking them to welcome.

Practical Application:
Choose one person you feel prompted to welcome. This week, take a step beyond your comfort zone—start a conversation, invite them to join you, or spend time listening to their story.

Sermon in a Sentence:

Faith doesn’t just save me from the world; it walks me OUT of it: Jesus’ blood passes judgment OVER me, the water brings me THROUGH and cuts off my old master, and God’s family welcomes me IN.

Closing Prayer:
Father, thank You that through Jesus we are forgiven, freed, and welcomed into Your family. Help us rest in His sacrifice, leave behind what keeps us tied to our old lives, and obey You even when it feels uncomfortable or looks unusual. Give us courage to build relationships and welcome others as You have welcomed us. Help us put Your Word into practice this week. In Jesus’ name, amen.
