NOTE:
Two opportunities to pray:
Leaders only: Please be available at the end of services to pray for those who come forward. If you are not actively serving during the service you are attending, make it a priority to head to the front when the invitation is given. Your presence matters!
North Attleboro Leaders and members: If you or any member of your group who currently serves is available, there is an opportunity to meet for prayer in the conference room off the break room during the second and third services. Please see Doug and Joanie White or Felix Shyllon if you would like to be a part of that ministry.
Please note: if you have a member who is not currently serving and would like to be part of the prayer during the service team, please have them take the appropriate steps to become a serve team member.

Key Verse: Revelation 3
Ice Breaker:
Someone accuses you of something completely ridiculous—but everyone who knows you would immediately say, “Yep, I could totally see that.” What are you being accused of?
Examples:
Buying something you absolutely did not need because it was on sale.
Driving 20 minutes out of the way for a specific coffee.
Starting a project at 10 p.m.
Eating the dessert you were supposedly saving for someone else.
Bonus: Let the group nominate an “accusation” for anyone who can’t think of one! 😄

Opening Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You that You love us too much to leave us where we are. Help us hear Your truth, receive Your correction, and recognize the purpose You have for us. Give us open hearts tonight and draw us closer to You. Amen.
What It Means When Jesus Loves Us
Revelation 3
It would be awful to be defined by one thing that happened to you in your life. We all have something like this in our lives, but it does not have to be our identity.
Many people think that Jesus had nothing good to say about the Church at Laodicea; though they were lukewarm, that was not true.
God’s love is for those who may not be where they should be spiritually.
Revelation 3:19 ESV
1. Jesus STILL LOVED Laodicea.
2. God’s CORRECTION is GOOD for you.
When Jesus corrects you, He has the bigger picture in mind.
The worst punishment that God could give you is to leave you to yourself.
Q. Why is it important for spiritually mature believers to remain open to God’s correction, and how can His correction be evidence of His love for us?
Leader Prompt:
Help the group see correction as part of a loving relationship with Jesus. Spiritual maturity doesn’t mean we no longer need correction—it means we become more willing to receive it and allow God to use it to shape us.
When Jesus LOVES me:
- He tells me the TRUTH.
Revelation 3:14 ESV
The word amen means truly. Jesus defines Himself as the True One. He will tell us the truth.
Q. Why is being willing to hear the truth from Jesus an important part of continuing to grow spiritually?
Leader Prompt:
Encourage the group to consider that Jesus tells us the truth because He loves us. Maturity means allowing His Word to challenge, correct, and shape us rather than only receiving what is comfortable to hear.
Practical Application:
Ask God to show you one area where you need to receive His truth more fully, then choose one specific step of obedience you can take this week.
2. He seeks PURPOSE for my life.
Revelation 3:15–16 ESV
There is nothing positive about being lukewarm. When cold water sits for a period of time, it loses its usefulness and becomes lukewarm.
Jesus is telling this church that they have lost their sense of purpose.
As Christians, we have a purpose in every assignment.
Q. Where has God placed you right now, and what would it look like to live with greater purpose for Him there?
Leader Prompt: Encourage the group to think beyond church roles. Our families, workplaces, relationships, and everyday responsibilities can all be assignments where God wants to use us.
Practical Application: Choose one area of your life where you’ve been going through the motions. Ask God to show you how to approach it this week with renewed purpose.
3. He EXPOSES my SELF-DECEPTION.
Revelation 3:17 ESV
Laodicea said they were all set; they did not need anything. They were so confident they thought they were good on their own.
Money cannot solve the heart’s spiritual condition. Jesus wanted them to get clothed in His righteousness, not their own.
Don’t judge yourself by your standard; judge yourself by God’s standard.
Romans 10:9 ESV
Q. How can we recognize when confidence in ourselves has replaced dependence on Christ, and what does spiritual maturity look like when God exposes something in us we don’t want to see?
Leader Prompt: Consider how easily success, comfort, or our own standards can hide our true spiritual condition. How should a mature believer respond when God’s Word reveals the truth?
Practical Application: Ask God to expose one area where you may be relying on yourself rather than Christ. Be willing to receive His correction and respond.
4. He OFFERS me REAL LIFE.
Revelation 3:18 ESV; Isaiah 55:1–2 ESV
We cannot buy our salvation; God provides what we need by grace.
Revelation 3:19 ESV
Q. What does Jesus offer us that the things of this world can never truly provide, and why do we sometimes settle for less?
Leader Prompt:
Encourage the group to consider the difference between what temporarily satisfies and the REAL LIFE Jesus offers. His correction and invitation come from His love and His desire to do better for us.
5. He seeks RENEWED fellowship.
Being far from God is not the problem; pushing Him away is.
Revelation 3:20 ESV
Only Jesus can OFFER me what will truly SATISFY me.
Revelation 3:21 ESV
Q. What can cause our fellowship with Jesus to become distant, even as believers, and what helps us keep that relationship close and growing?
Leader Prompt:
Help the group distinguish between knowing Jesus and actively enjoying fellowship with Him. Encourage them to consider the habits and choices that keep their relationship with Christ personal, consistent, and satisfying.
Sermon in a Sentence:
Jesus LOVES me too MUCH to LEAVE me ON my OWN.
Closing Prayer
Jesus, thank You for loving us enough to tell us the truth, correct us, and call us closer. Expose anything in us that needs to change and renew our fellowship with You. Help us live with purpose, depend on You, and find our satisfaction in You alone. Amen.
