WATERS UNIVERSITY – Re-Engage starts the first week in March and Alpha Spring classes in April!

We’re looking to grow healthy Christians at Waters Church…spiritually, physically, mentally, financially, and relationally — that is the mission of Waters University.

We are well into our Financial Peace University Spring classes and looking forward to the March start for “Re-Engage” classes and the mid April start to “Alpha” classes at the North Attleboro, Woonsocket, Southcoast and Apollo Beach campuses.
Re‑Engage is a Christ‑centered marriage‑enrichment experience that helps couples reconnect, strengthen communication, and grow together through honest conversation and community support.
Alpha is a welcoming, conversation‑driven introduction to the Christian faith where anyone can explore life’s big questions in a relaxed, judgment‑free environment.
Go to https://watersu.org/ or click the link below now for more information on classes and to register.   Registrations should be posted soon if they’re not already up.

Please note: Life Groups that generously provide or sponsor a meal for Alpha are deeply appreciated. To help create a safe and consistent environment where guests feel comfortable opening up, we kindly ask that groups serve the meal and then allow the Alpha team and registered participants to continue with the class and discussion portion.

Thank you!

North Attleboro Leaders and members: If you are available, or any member of your group who currently serves is available, there is an opportunity to meet for prayer in the conference room off of the break room area during the second and third services.  Please see Doug and Joanie White or Felix Shyllon if you would like to be a part of that ministry.

Please note: if you have a member who is not currently serving and would like to be part of the prayer during the service team, please have them take the appropriate steps to become a serve team member.

Your presence makes a difference—thank you for serving!

KEY VERSE: John 10

I AM – Finding My Identity in Who He Is

LIFE GROUP LEADER MEETING MONDAY, MARCH 16, SCROLL TO TOP OF ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR INDIVIDUAL LINKS

Part 4 | I Am the Door

Key VerseJohn 10

Icebreaker Question:

If you could walk through any door that instantly took you somewhere fun or meaningful, where would it take you and why?

Opening Prayer:

Lord, thank You for bringing us together today. As we spend time in Your Word and in conversation, help us to understand more clearly who Jesus is and what it means that He is the Door. Open our eyes to see what You want to show us, open our ears to hear Your voice, and open our hearts to the life You are inviting us into. Guide our discussion and help us grow in our relationship with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Jesus is the way to salvation; He is the entrance to Heaven. He is the Door.

A. Doors reveal AUTHORITY.

There are doors we can’t walk through because we don’t have a key.  We don’t have authority.

John 10:1 ESV

Jesus is the only one with the authority to take us through the Door to Heaven.

B. Doors DETERMINE my DESTINATION.

John 10:7 ESV

He is the Door that determines your eternal destination.

C. Doors STRENGTHEN my POSITION.

Doors protect, shield, and keep out what you don’t want in.

John 10:10

A battle is underway for your doors.

Religion (or religious systems) is the thief.  Religion hurts, blinds, and enslaves people.  They can shut the door to eternal life.

RELIGION isn’t the DOOR to LIFE, JESUS is.

Q. Looking at these three truths about doors—revealing authority, determining destination, and strengthening position—how does recognizing Jesus as the Door shape the way we trust Him to lead our lives?

Leader Prompt:

Help the group see the progression in these three statements: Jesus has the authority as the Door, entering through Him determines our destination, and through Him we experience the abundant life He promises. Encourage participants to reflect on how these truths influence their daily walk with Christ.

Practical Application:

This week, intentionally trust Jesus as the Door in one area of your life where you need His authority, direction, or the abundant life He offers. Pray and ask Him to guide your decisions and strengthen your position in Him.

AM I RELIGIOUS or am I in RELATIONSHIP with Jesus?

  1. A relationship with Jesus OPENS my EYES.

John 9:1–3 ESV

You cannot do enough to get to Heaven, but Christ has done enough to get you to Heaven.

Romans 3:23 (ESV)

Q. In John 9, Jesus helped a man who was born blind see. How can a relationship with Jesus change the way we see our circumstances, struggles, or the work God may be doing in our lives?

Q. Is there an area of your life you need Jesus to help you see more clearly right now?

Leader Prompt:

Help the group notice that in this passage, Jesus shifts the focus from blame to God’s purpose. Encourage participants to reflect on how Jesus can open our spiritual eyes to see God at work even in difficult situations.

Practical Application

Ask God this week to open your eyes to something you may not be seeing clearly—whether it is His purpose in a situation, an opportunity to trust Him more, or a way He wants to work through your life.

2. A relationship with Jesus OPENS my EARS.

John 10:3–5 ESV

Sheep can tell the voice of their shepherd.

VIDEO: “Sheep only obey their Masters voice”

Q. What are some ways you have learned to recognize the voice of Jesus in your life?

Leader Prompt:

Encourage the group to think about how Jesus speaks to us—through Scripture, prayer, the Holy Spirit, and wise counsel. Help them reflect on how the more time we spend with Him, the more familiar His voice becomes.

Practical Application:

This week, intentionally spend time listening for Jesus’ voice by reading Scripture and praying. Before making a decision or responding to a situation, pause and ask, “Lord, what are You saying to me about this?”

3. A relationship with Jesus OPENS my LIFE to His ABUNDANCE.

John 10:9 ESV

Not only do you hear his voice because you know it, but it secures your heart in Him.

Q. What do you think the abundant life Jesus promises looks like in your everyday life?

Leader Prompt:

Help the group think about abundance not only as blessings or circumstances, but as the fullness of life found in walking closely with Jesus—experiencing His peace, purpose, guidance, and presence.

Practical Application:

This week, identify one area of your life where you want to experience more of the life Jesus offers. Pray about it and take a step toward trusting Him more fully in that area.

So who am I?

In Christ I am SAFE in the sheepfold of Jesus, HEARING God’s VOICE and SECURED in His BLOOD.

Key Takeaways:

What are 3 Key Takeaways you received from this message?

Closing Prayer

Lord, thank You for reminding us that Jesus is the Door and that through Him we have life. Help us this week to trust His authority, listen for His voice, and walk in the abundance He promises. Strengthen our faith and help us live out what we have discussed today. In Jesus’ name, Amen
