What is your legacy?

The legacy we leave is important.  Our legacy should not be about our success but about the success we help others obtain.

1. Our Legacy Should Be Generational

2 Timothy 1:3-9

Timothy’s faith was sincere, this faith that was first in his mother and grandmother.

Q. In your journey to becoming a Christian, whose legacy (could be more than one person) would you say led you to where you are right now and how?

2. Our Vision for Legacy Should Be Concise

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Jesus left a pretty good legacy.  His ministry lasted 3 years. It was short, but it was impactful.  He was all things to all people.

Romans 112:17-21

It is concise to be a good person!  Now we can break it down further from here but at its core it is that simple.

3. Our Legacy Should Be His Legacy

John 6:38; Luke 22:42

There are many reasons we may feel we cannot fulfill His legacy. We don’t have to be the best, and it is okay if others do it better.

Q. What are some reasons you feel ill-equipped to carry out the legacy of Christ?

Ephesians 3:20-21; John 14:25-27

We have all the tools we need already.  Don’t be afraid to step up and speak into the future of Waters Church and the Ministry of Jesus here.

2 Timothy 2:14-15

When we ask God to equip us, He will go beyond what we can even ask or think.

Matthew 7:7-8

Luckily Jesus answered the big ASK, luckily He stayed on the cross, luckily Jesus rose again so that we could have eternal life.

Challenge: If you are not serving at Waters Church, step up and serve.  Go to waterschurch.org/serve and sign up to serve.

Serving in the children’s ministry is not about babysitting, it is about leaving a legacy so these children can hear the word of God.  You may be the only Bible they read.  You are also leaving a legacy of the parents who would not necessarily get to sit in a service and hear the Gospel.
