RECAP: Part 1, we learned how to get connected to the power source, next we wired into the power source, in Recharge 3 we learned how to de-clutter things in the way of our power source and last week we learned how to rest in the power source. This week we will learn how use the power within the Hotspot.
HotSpot is where two or more connect through a power source. Your small group is like a Hotspot (Matthew 18:20 NLT)
Jesus related His last instructions to his disciples. They witnessed His resurrection and had experienced a relationship with him. They were to tell people everywhere. We too have a testimony about Jesus and each of our testimonies is excellent. No testimony is too small. Jesus saved us and we also are to tell people everywhere.
Q. Do you find it difficult to witness to others because of your testimony and why? (Maybe you think it is too small, maybe your afraid of what others may think of you because of your past etc…)
1. RECHARGE: WAR BETWEEN TWO KINGDOMS
There are physical battles (wars) and spiritual battles (satan and his angels).
A. God has dressed you for Battle:
Put on the full armor of God. We can stand firm and win each battle. God gives us the tools to fight spiritual battles.
Our wardrobe, as Christians, consists of a war-suit. We are God’s masterpiece, salvation is the beginning of the battle. When we are saved, the battle against the spiritual realm begins.
Q. Looking at the armor of God, how does each piece prepare you for battle? Can you share how you have used these pieces of armor against the enemy?
B. Satan wants your worship!
The Godless universe is a corner stone of many big scientific theories. “Singularity” is a concept which is not explained – Creation of the World. God spoke the galaxies into existence with a single word. Satan wants to keep us from worshiping our Creator.
“Scientists stick together, because…as geneticist Richard Lewontin puts it, “We cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door.”
“Like any militant church, this one paces a familiar demand before all others: Thou shalt have not other gods before me.”
Q. Before becoming a Christian, did any scientific theories make you skeptical about Christianity and why? If you are not a believer, what scientific theories make you skeptical and why?
C. Satan feasts on your doubt!
Killing Kryptonite – John Bevere
Satan wants us to think the Holy Spirit is powerless. Some may say things like “God doesn’t move like this any longer”. It’s as if we’ve contoured the gospel to align with our condition…anything that promotes power, strength, success, abundance, fruitfulness, or health…We say such a message is extreme. – IS IT EXTREME, THIS GOSPEL? Is it invasive? What does it NOT invade? God wants us to surrender.
D. The Devil’s Kryptonite robs your strength.
Kryptonite makes us powerless.
Q. In each of the statements below, state which ones are true for you and which ones are not and why?
- I believe I can conquer any challenge I face.
- I feel content and at peace with what’s happening in my life.
- It’s easy for me to confront others with compassion.
- I feel powerless over sin.
- It’s easy for me to forgive people.
- My feelings govern and control my life.
- I believe my prayers are a powerful force to be reckoned with.
- I enjoy gathering with other Christians.
2. RECHARGE: SHARE YOUR STORY.
A. But, Your story shatters strongholds.
- Your wounds were exchanged for Christ’s glory.
- Your story reveals God’s forgiveness from the Cross.
Luke 23:34
Q. How has telling your story, touched someone else’s life? (ie John told us the story of someone in his small-group that was able to witness to someone else regarding suicide because she almost committed suicide until she received a phone call right before it happened – this person then received Christ).
B. Your story fires the Genesis Project.
In Genesis, the perfect life was set in this earth. The new Genesis project started at Pentecost in Acts. They went out and shared the Gospel.
3. RECHARGE: BECOME HIS LOVE.
A. Love your Small Group.
- Love God [Father, Son, Holy Spirit]: Heart, soul, mind and strength. (1 John 4:18)
- Love your Small Group…keep them safe from the evil one. (John 17)
Jesus made it simple, love God and love your neighbor. God is going to keep you safe from the enemy.
Q. Sometimes it is hard to love the un-lovable, what are some examples of those you find it very difficult to love and why?
B. Celebrate God’s promise in your Hotspot.
- The HOTSPOT is where we get healed. The Hotspot is where we find the true Rest in Christ.
- MIRACLES: The ripples go out in all directions from the rescue of one sinner and the healing of one soul.
- “The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction. (1 Corinthians 1:18)
Pray for each other, the lost, your community, nation and leaders.
