NEW ENGLAND: UPCOMING CONCERT – TAYA (of Hillsong UNITED, singer of Oceans (Where Feet May Fall))
EVENT INFO:
Join TAYA on May 4th at North Attleboro for the Come Into The Light Tour, a transformative worship experience featuring her latest single by the same name, as well as other new songs from her upcoming record. “This tour is something I felt God drop in my heart over 2 years ago to do here in the United States, but for different reasons, it never eventuated…until now. I believe God’s timing and His alignment is perfect — and without either, I wouldn’t be walking into these nights with the stories and songs I now am.” Each night will be an invitation to pause and lay your life before God — every good, messy, broken, and sweet piece — and allow Him to have it all. You won’t want to miss these powerful nights of surrender in the Presence of Jesus, where we can Come Into The Light together and rediscover that He truly is everything He promised to be.

Ice Breaker Question
What is one unlikely victory you’ve experienced in your life, something you didn’t expect to overcome but did?
Opening Prayer
Lord, as we gather today to learn and grow together, we ask for Your wisdom and guidance. Open our hearts to the truths You want us to receive, and help us apply these lessons daily. Amen.
**********************
Throughout history, despite countless challenges and adversities, God has always preserved a people for Himself who reflect His glory. From the Israelites, whom He called the “army of the living God,” to the faithful of the New Covenant, God’s chosen have triumphed through obedience and faith.
God’s selection of David as the King of Israel exemplifies His method of using seemingly insignificant individuals for significant purposes. Initially a shepherd boy, David was anointed at 17 but only assumed kingship after many years. His journey—from tending sheep to defeating Goliath and becoming a king—illustrates that God’s call often requires patience and faith in His timing.
David sinned before God, and his disobedience had severe consequences, not just for him but also for others around him. These acts, and the subsequent divine reprimand, highlight that even the most favored by God are not immune to judgment.
Five Reasons Why God Exposes David’s Sin
God exposed David’s sin:
1. To Display God’s Grace – Unmerited Favor
Scripture Reference: Ephesians 2:8-9 (ESV)
We cannot boast because we are saved by grace alone.
Q. How can understanding that God’s grace is a gift—not earned by our merits—change how you live and interact with others?
Practical Application:
Think of someone you find challenging to extend grace to. Plan a specific action this week to show them grace, reflecting God’s unmerited favor toward us.
God exposed David’s sin:
2. To Show His Mercies are New Every Morning
Scripture Reference: Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)
As believers, we mess up. We ask for forgiveness, and God forgives us. He is a merciful God.
Q. Can you share when you experienced God’s mercy anew after a personal failure?
Practical Application:
Write a personal prayer of repentance and thanksgiving for God’s mercy. Keep it in your Bible or a place you’ll see daily as a reminder of His grace.
God exposed David’s sin:
3. To Show He is Not Ashamed to be Called the God of Those Who Mess Up
Hebrews 11:16 (ESV)
God is not ashamed to be called the God of ___________ (insert your name).
Q. How does knowing that God is not ashamed to be called your God, despite your imperfections, affect your faith and actions?
Practical Application: Commit to openly sharing a part of your testimony this week that highlights your imperfections but glorifies God’s acceptance and love.
God exposed David’s sin:
4. To Show That He Stands by His Word
1 Corinthians 1:27 (ESV)
You don’t have to have a degree, charisma, or be good-looking to be chosen by God.
Q. How have you seen God use unexpected people or situations in your life to demonstrate His power and wisdom?
Practical Application:
Identify a recent situation where you felt inadequate. Reflect on how God can use your weaknesses, and share this reflection in your next group meeting.
God exposed David’s sin:
5. To Show All Mankind That No One is Perfect
Romans 3:23 (ESV)
There is only one who is perfect, and that is Jesus Christ.
Q. Why is it important to recognize that no one is perfect? How does this realization impact our relationship with God and others?
Practical Application:
This week, practice humility by admitting a mistake or a shortcoming to someone close to you, fostering an environment of openness and grace in your relationships.
Three Key Takeaways:
- God’s Grace is Unmerited: We cannot earn it; it’s freely given.
- Mercies Renewed Daily: No matter our failures, God’s mercies begin afresh each morning.
- Embracing Our Imperfections: God uses our imperfections to showcase His perfect grace and strength.
Closing Prayer:
Father, thank You for Your mercy and grace, renewing us daily. Help us to walk in the truth of Your Word and to extend the grace You have given us to others in our lives. Strengthen us to be obedient and faithful, reflecting Your glory in all we do. Amen.
