Living Out Grace: Called, Gifted, Serving, Giving
Introduction to Grace:
– God’s grace takes responsibility for us.
– Christ redeems, purifies, and justifies us before the Father.
Newton’s Law Applied to Grace:
– Grace is not just a one-way action; it should provoke a reaction in our activities toward others.
– Two ways to serve God: through “Grace” or “Guilt.”
The 4 Effects of Grace
1. Calling:
– Every Christian has a unique calling.
– Understanding that grace means being chosen (1 Peter 2:9).
– Example: Steve Jobs realized he was chosen, leading to his impact on the world.
(Leader: Please select one of the following questions):
Q. How does knowing you are chosen by God impact your self-perception and interactions with others?
Q. Reflect on a moment when you felt chosen or valued. How did it influence your actions?
2. Gifting:
– God has given different gifts to each person (Romans 12:6).
– Practical steps to identify and use your gifts.
(Leader: Please select one of the following questions):
Q. What steps can you take to identify and develop your spiritual gifts?
Q. Share a personal experience of using your gift to serve others. How did it feel?
3. Serving:
– Using your gift to serve others (1 Peter 4:10–11).
– Emphasis on active involvement, avoiding passivity.
– Serving as an expression of gratitude for God’s grace.
Q. In what ways have you actively served others as an expression of God’s grace?
Q. What challenges or hesitations might people face in serving and how can they overcome them?
4. Giving:
– Understanding that grace should lead to generosity.
– Commending Corinthian church for excelling in the grace of giving (2 Corinthians 8:7-8).
– Maturity is measured in generosity.
Q. How does the concept of grace influence your attitude toward giving? Can you share a story of a time when you experienced the joy of giving and how it impacted you?
Weekly Challenge: List some practical ways your small group can collectively live out grace in your community. At your next meeting, discuss your ideas and how you can put them into practice.
