Team Night (THIS THURSDAY): You are being invited to Team Nights! You and your group members are encouraged to come join us! Team Nights are held once a month on Thursday evenings at 6:30p. The next one is on Oct 11. Team nights are a great way to learn the ‘how’ behind what goes on here at Waters Church! You can even get ‘hands on’ experience and collaborate with our team members. A typical night would be to arrive at 6:30 and enjoy some food and fellowship until 6:45p. This will be followed by a short worship set and message. Next, you can take part in a break out session of your choice! Is there something that you always wanted to try but were afraid? Don’t be! Our media team creative team and Kids team are available to show you around and give you some hands-on with our equipment! Lights, cameras, sound, worship? Get a behind the scenes look into what we do here to make the Weekend Experience come alive! The evening will end with more fellowship and snacks and officially goes until 9:00p but of course you don’t have to stay until the end. There is no sign-up or registration required, just show up! Make a night of it with your group. Leaders, this is a great way to get your members to understand how Waters works and to get those that are not serving, to serve. It is also a great way for you to try something you have never done before but always wanted to! Team Nights are available to all campuses!
Continue to pray for the Diamond Hill Property for Woonsocket so they can have a permanent home.

SEE TO IT THAT NOT ONE TAKES YOU CAPTIVE BY PHILOSOPHY AND EMPTY DECEIT, ACCORDING TO HUMAN TRADITION, ACCORDING TO THE ELEMENTAL SPIRITS OF THE WORLD, AND NOT ACCORDING TO CHRIST.
Key Verse Colossians 4:2-6
THE #1 MISTAKE THAT A CHURCH CAN MAKE: FORGET OUR CALLING TO MAKE THE GOSPEL KNOWN.
We are inundated with news. Especially today with Social Media, we are more susceptible to hear what is not true. What is true is that Jesus is alive and no one cannot be saved by God’s amazing grace! We must stay committed to making Jesus known. We have to shape our church to always be here to preach the gospel. When the Church forgets to make Jesus known, we stop offering the truth and it dies and inevitable death.
Q. What experience have you had being part of a church that forgot their calling?
The Good News is Heard When:
1. GOD’S PEOPLE PRAY FOR IT.
Steadfastly, continually pray.
1. WATCHFUL PRAYER: BEING AWARE OF WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR WORLD AND ADDRESS IT.
We need to be aware of what is happening and get on our knees and address it before our Father. It is a short distance from the mess and noise of our world to the throne room of heaven. Because Jesus is our sacrifice we have access to the throne. We have the opportunity to pray for whatever it is we need to pray for. God hears us when we pray.
Q. Why is it so important for us to realize that we have access to God 24/7? Why is it difficult at times for us to believe that he really does hear us when we pray?
2. THANKFUL PRAYER: BELIEVES GOD IS WORKING EVEN WHEN WE DON’T SEE IT.
Joseph was betrayed, falsely accused and put in prison. He had every reason to throw his hands up. However, what his brothers meant for evil, God used it for good. Whatever the enemy throws against us, God can use it for us.
Paul is in prison asking God to open the door for the Word, not to open the door so he can get out, because he knows God can use his imprisonment for the proclamation of the Word.
God opens people’s hearts to the Word. People cannot open people’s’ hearts, only God can open the heart to the Word.
Paul had a Roman centurion chained to him. You never know what the power of the Gospel can do. The message he shared with the Roman centurion went all the way to Caesars household. Don’t stop praying even if you fail because God is working even when we don’t see it.
Q. What is a some failure you may have had that God was working out even though you did not see it at first?
3. PURPOSEFUL PRAYER: THAT IN ALL THINGS THE GOSPEL IS CLEAR.
Pastor Tim wants us to do this for him; to pray that he never goes off topic or shares his opinion and also to be clear on what the Word says.
‘I’m a good person’ is not the Gospel. ‘I feel’ is not the Gospel. We walk by faith not by feelings. It is whether or not we believe, not feel. The Gospel is a declaration that Jesus has conquered hell, death, guilt and shame. The Good News is that Jesus Christ has won!
Q. What is the danger in believing your feelings? What experience can you share where you allowed your feelings to dictate your belief?
PRAYER TIMES: North Attleboro- 6:00p-7:00p every First Wed., 3:30p – 3:50p every Saturday, 9:45a-10:45a every Sunday. Woonsocket: Sunday before service.
The Good News is Heard WHEN:
2. GOD’S PEOPLE LIVE IT.
We need to have an opportunistic attitude about our faith. Our job is a divine assignment, it is not just a job. His strength will empower us. We are to share the Gospel but be careful not to cast our pearls to swine (Matthew 7:6). Meaning if someone wants to argue politics or debate scripture with us, we are not fo fall into the enemies trap. We should share the Gospel with someone who has suffered loss, or maybe someone whom no one else likes. We should walk in wisdom,
Q. Who are some people at work, school or your neighborhood with whom you have shared the Gospel and what has been your experience with someone who you may have encountered that wanted to debate the scriptures with you or argue politics?
The Good News is Heard WHEN:
3. GOD’S PEOPLE SHARE IT.
The Gospel is words. The Gospel requires words and we should add some flavor to the words. When we go to work, school or in our neighborhood we should let what we say be naturally interesting. Instead of saying ‘I went to church’, say something like ‘ I went to church and it was awesome!’
TREAT EACH PERSON INDIVIDUALLY.
Q. What are some interesting ways you have shared the Gospel?
The Good News is Heard WHEN:
4. GOD’S PEOPLE WORK TOGETHER IN IT.
Paul was a powerful witness because he had a great team. At Waters, the sermon has already been preached before Pastor Tim even gets on stage – parking team, greeting team, Waters Kids, Cafe etc. Get involved. Serve and be a part of what God is doing here. If you can’t serve, give to what God is doing here.
