Born is the King | Part 4 “Go Tell It On The Mountain” – North Attleboro

Matthew 28:19-20 ESV

1.GO TELL WHAT? THAT JESUS CHRIST IS BORN!

Matthew 1:23 ESV

This is the Christmas story.  Though He was born a baby, He was God.  He made the blind see, the lame walk and the sick healed.  He is the Great Physician.  He was more than just born of a virgin and he was more than the miracles He performed.

Q. Why is it easier for us (or others) to see Jesus as a newborn baby rather than the man who reconciles us back to God?

He was more than a man, He is the Son of God.  Immanuel means God with us.

FOLLOWING JESUS IS DIFFERENT THAN ALL OTHER RELIGIONS.

A. Jesus was born a miraculous birth.

Born of a virgin.

B. Jesus died to break the curse.

We know there is something not right in the world, with ourselves. His resurrection was a cure that He gave us.

C. Jesus was resurrected.

He did it to give us hope for the future.  Where He is, we will be with Him one day.

2. WHY WE TELL OTHERS…

A. You want to be unashamed of what Jesus has done for you.

We want people to see how good He is.

Romans 1:16 ESV

Q. What were your thoughts when you first learned of Christ’s resurrecting power?  Were you anxious to tell others or ashamed to tell others and why?

B. You want to share what God has done in your life.

Luke 8:39 ESV

Life is hard and it is hard to see the good but when we refresh our minds, we remember the hope we have.

Q. What are some ways you need to be reminded about God’s goodness by what he has already done for you? How has he delivered you in the past ( perhaps even last week or yesterday) and how does this help you get you through your current struggles?

C. You love others an want them to know Jesus also.

Romans 5:8 ESV

Our friends and family tend to see the old us but we want them to see how Jesus changed us.  We want them to experience the gift of eternal life.

Q. Are there people in your life that are not convinced that you are a ‘new creation’?  Do they still insist on seeing you as the person you were and why?

Three things last forever Faith, Hope and Love.

1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT

We have FAITH that Jesus came and died for us (Romans 5:1-11).

We have HOPE in the resurrection through Him (1 Thessalonians 4:14).

We have LOVE because He loved us first (1 John 4:19).

3. WHO DO WE TELL?  EVERYONE! WHAT IS YOUR MOUNTAIN? LET THE CHURCH BE YOUR MOUNTAIN!

Q. Why was it ( or is it) difficult for you to respond positively to the gospel when you first heard it preached and how long did it take you to receive the salvation of Jesus?

Q. What was your mountain when you accepted Christ as Lord and Savior of your life?

While shepherds kept their watch, O’er silent flocks by night, Behold throughout the heavens There shone a holy light

Chorus: Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere, go tell it on the mountain, that Jesus Christ was born.

The shepherds feared and trembled When lo! above the earth Rang out the angel chorus That hailed our Saviour’s birth

Chorus

Down in a lowly manger The humble Christ was born; And God sent our salvation That blessed Christmas morn

Chorus

When I was a seeker I sought both night and day I sought the Lord to help me And He showed me the way.

Chorus

He made me a watchman Upon the city wall And if I am a Christian I am the least of all

GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN OVER THE HILLS AND EVERYWHERE, GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN THAT JESUS CHRIST IS BORN!

GO TELL IT!

PRAY FOR EACH OTHER, THE LOST, CHRISTMAS SERVICE, CAMPUSES, LEADERS AND NATION.
