We offer two types of classes.  Please familiarize yourself with what these classes are about.  Feel free to sign up for one so you can better explain what they are to your group members.
Starting Point: What is Christianity all about? Is the Bible really more than just a book? Who is Jesus? No matter where we are in life, we all have questions. Starting Point is a great place to explore the faith and have safe and open discussions about some of life’s toughest questions.
Growth Track:  In this 3 part class; Discover, Deepen, & Dedicate; you will get answers to the most frequently asked questions about Waters Church and have an opportunity to ask your own. This is the perfect place to get to know the “Why” behind the “What” of who we are as a church.

A Life-Giving Church goes ABOVE and BEYOND for PEOPLE because PEOPLE matter to God.
We should not let the movement of Jesus stop at us. We are rich in America.  We collect things like: tv’s, cars etc.  We don’t realize how good we have it.  We even have houses for our cars.  People are living on the street and our cars have heated houses.  None of the stuff we collect will go with us from this life to the next.  The only thing we can take to heaven is people. There is only one name by which we can be saved – Jesus – and we need to start saying this a little louder.  The church that believes this, works to make it happen.
Ice-breaker question:
Q. Why is it so easy to spend our money on things that don’t matter  but harder to let it go when it involves reaching people for the glory of God?
1. BRINGING PEOPLE TO JESUS HELPS THEM KNOW THE FATHER.
It is not just about getting people to heaven, but also connecting them with our heavenly Father.
And He was preaching the word to them.
Jesus came to reveal the Father through the word.  A man who is paralyzed is going to get up and walk.  First Jesus preaches to those who came to see him, the popularity of Jesus was sky-high at this point.  His main mission is to reveal the Father, not perform tricks.
Jesus came to show us what God is like.  Our culture is confused about what God is like.  In fact, our culture defines what God is like.  The Islamic faith started 600 years after the Christian faith.  It is not an ancient faith but it is a bad version of the Christian faith.  It is a mockery of Christianity.  Jesus is the exact representation of the Father for the world to see.  Ephesians 4:5-6: One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all, through all and in all.
Q. Before you became a believer, how did you define what God was like?
The scourge of our country is fatherlessness.  1/3 of the children in this country live without their father.  Fatherlessness destroys families and it is killing our country.  Even those who are fatherless, can know our heavenly Father.  Jesus introduces us to a Father that will never leave us.
Q.What are some things you have learned about your heavenly Father from knowing who Jesus is?  If you are fatherless, how has knowing you have a heavenly Father impacted your life?
2. BRINGING PEOPLE TO JESUS REQUIRES FAITH IN ACTION.
We are not defined by how we feel but by what we do.  Our faith in Christ defines us.  We are children of the living God.  The definition of who we are is based on our response to Jesus.
In this passage of scripture, these guys that are carrying the paralyzed man did not say ‘this is too much work.’  They did not want to miss out on what God had for them.  They climbed up to the top, took the roof off and climbed into the house all while carrying this man.  This is faith in action.  They pushed through the crowd. Jesus saw their faith.   We need to not let the little things push us out the door. We need not let bad Christians or bad experiences keep us from Jesus.
THEIR FAITH CHANGED THIS GUYS LIFE.
Q. What life change have you witnessed by putting your faith into action?
3. BRINGING PEOPLE TO JESUS CHANGES THEM FROM THE INSIDE OUT.
OUR  REAL PROBLEM IS A SIN PROBLEM.
Jesus came to take care of our sin problem.  Americans make it a social problem. We say it is because we need better neighborhoods or more money etc.   Our government is not our answer.  We need to change from the inside out.  The sin problem is not going to be solved by anyone but Jesus.  When the heart is changed, the rest is able to flow.  Jesus came to change the heart.
Forgiveness of iniquity comes before physical healing.  When we give our heart to Christ, the Healer will start to heal us from the inside out.
Q. What is one paralysis in  your life from which you want Jesus to release you?
4. BRINGING PEOPLE TO JESUS CHANGES FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES FOR GOOD.
 – he said to the paralytic“I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.”
Jesus is God.  Jesus had to heal the real problem.  Jesus has the power to heal the real problem.  They did not believe him that he was healed so Jesus shows them with a miracle and tells the paralytic to pick up his bed.    The miracle was sending a message about the power of Jesus to heal his heart.
When you go home after giving your life to Christ, it is a better home.
