Icebreaker Question
What’s one thing about your life that’s completely different today than it was five years ago?
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for bringing us together today. Open our hearts to Your Word. Help us to see the powerful ways You work in our lives. Let this time deepen our faith, build our trust, and stir a desire in us to grow as disciples. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Ephesians 3:20 (ESV) Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think..
Seven Things Jesus Can Do For You:
- HE FORGIVES YOU.
We need forgiveness.
Many Christians sit with unforgiveness in their hearts, which brings them to a place of bondage and prevents them from being free to worship God the way they should.
Others never forgive and hold on to it for their entire lives
Christians need to be experts in forgiveness. Unforgiveness brings you into bondage. We must learn to forgive.
We all need forgiveness because we all sin.
Romans 3:23 (ESV)
Isaiah 43:25
Q. Why do you think it’s so hard for people to accept God’s forgiveness—and how does that affect their ability to forgive others?
Practical Application:
Can you share an area where you experienced forgiveness? Take time this week to reflect on one area where you’ve experienced God’s forgiveness. Share your testimony with someone who needs encouragement.
2. HE CLEANSES YOU.
1 John 1:7-9
Through His blood, Jesus can help us live a life cleansed of sin.
Isaiah 64:6
The blood of Christ is the only remedy to wash away our sins. There is power in the blood to cleanse us from all of our unrighteousness.
Q. What does it mean to you that Jesus’ blood cleanses you completely, even from the sins you struggle to forget?
Practical Application:
Set aside 10 minutes each day this week to confess anything weighing on your heart and invite God to cleanse you anew.
3. HE CHANGES YOU.
We may try many ways to change, but true transformation comes only through the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:17
When you experience the new birth, you supernaturally become a new creature.
Unless you are born again, you cannot live the life God created you for.
He renews your mind, and you walk in the newness of life.
Q. What areas of your life are hardest to surrender to God, and how might true change begin there?
Practical Application:
Write down the changes you’ve seen in your life through Christ. (Would anyone like to share changes you have seen in your life?) Pray over these and thank God for His transforming power.
4. HE KEEPS YOU.
Jude 24:25 (ESV)
Life does not become a bed of roses when you get saved. There will be difficulties, but Jesus is able to keep you from slipping and falling.
One day, He will present you faultless before the Father.
Q. What does it mean to you that God is able to keep you from falling?
Practical Application:
Meditate on Jude 1:24-25 this week as a reminder of God’s power to sustain and protect you.
5. HE DELIVERS YOU.
John 8:36
Many people cry out for deliverance from something that has brought them into a place of bondage. They try to break free on their own. But Jesus is able to break every chain and set them free.
Q. What story of deliverance in your life shows that Jesus has the power to truly set people free?
Practical Application:
Write a brief journal entry about your deliverance. Please share it with your group or someone in your life who needs hope.
6. HE FILLS YOU.
Acts 1:8
When you are changed and become a new creation, something supernatural begins to happen. The Holy Spirit comes to dwell within you. He teaches you the truth, makes Jesus real to your heart, and empowers you to live a transformed life. You will always carry the supernatural presence of the Holy Spirit with you.
When you receive the Holy Spirit, He equips you to do tremendous things, such as witnessing to others and boldly preaching the Good News. Your body becomes a temple of the Holy Spirit, and from the core of your being, rivers of living water begin to flow.
The fountains of this world will never satisfy the deep thirst in people’s souls—only Jesus can.
Q. What does it look like for “rivers of living water” to flow from your life into the lives of others?
Practical Application:
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you each morning this week, and be intentional about listening for His leading.
7. HE USES YOU.
Matthew 9:38
Broken people often come to Christ because they are desperate for hope and healing. Others might look down on them, assuming that God only uses those who are beautiful, clever, or successful. But that’s not how God works.
God is drawn to surrender, not status. When we surrender our lives to Him, He makes us vessels for His glory. He doesn’t leave us as we are—He transforms us. He forgives, cleanses, and makes us new creations in Christ.
And with that transformation comes a promise: He will keep you. The fire won’t burn you, and the waters won’t drown you (Isaiah 43:2). He will use your life for His glory.
We were created for this—to reflect His glory. But we cannot do that in our natural, sinful state. We must be born again.
Q. What is one way God may want to use you this week to reach someone?
Practical Application: Pray and look for one opportunity to serve or share Christ with someone this week.
Key Takeaways
- God is actively at work in every believer’s life—He forgives, cleanses, and transforms.
- Through His power, we are protected, delivered, and filled with His Spirit, enabling us to walk boldly in faith.
- Every believer has a calling—God desires to use us to impact others and build His Kingdom.
Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank you for the life-changing work you do in us. You forgive, cleanse, change, keep, deliver, fill, and use us for Your glory. Help us to walk in that truth daily and to live lives that reflect Your love and power. Empower us by Your Spirit to go and make a difference. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
