Alpha is a welcoming, conversation‑driven introduction to the Christian faith where anyone (new & non-believers) can explore life’s big questions in a relaxed, judgment‑free environment.

Two opportunities to pray:
Leaders only: Please be available at the end of services to pray for those who come forward. If you are not actively serving during the service you are attending, make it a priority to head to the front when the invitation is given. Your presence matters!
North Attleboro Leaders and members: If you or any member of your group who currently serves is available, there is an opportunity to meet for prayer in the conference room off the break room during the second and third services. Please see Doug and Joanie White or Felix Shyllon if you would like to be a part of that ministry.
Please note: if you have a member who is not currently serving and would like to be part of the prayer during the service team, please have them take the appropriate steps to become a serve team member.

Q. If you were given $500 that had to be spent in one store within 30 minutes, what store would you choose?
Opening Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing us together. Open our hearts to hear Your truth and give us the courage to stand firm in a world that often encourages compromise. Help us recognize anything that pulls us away from You and strengthen us to choose Jesus above everything else. May our lives honor You in all we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
If Satan cannot DISCOURAGE believers with TROUBLE, he will
seek to CORRUPT them with COMPROMISE.
A. Pergamum was a Church that wouldn’t BEND.
Revelation 2:12 – 13 ESV
B. Pergamum was a Church that began to BLEND.
Revelation 2:14 ESV
Satan cannot CURSE you, but he can SEDUCE you.
C. Pergamum was a Church that had to CHOOSE.

Q. What are some subtle ways Christians can drift from standing firm in their faith to blending in with the values of the world, and why is spiritual compromise often so difficult to recognize?
Leader Prompt:
Encourage the group to think beyond obvious sins. Help them identify how compromise often begins with small, gradual choices rather than dramatic decisions.
Practical Application:
Ask God this week to reveal any area where you’ve begun to compromise. Take one intentional step to choose faithfulness over fitting in, even if it feels uncomfortable.
What do we choose?
- Choose to STAND for TRUTH in a world of LIES.
Revelation 2:13 ESV
Q. Why is standing for biblical truth a mark of spiritual maturity, and what makes it difficult to do in today’s culture?
Leader Prompt:
Encourage the group to share practical situations where standing for truth requires both courage and love. Remind them that truth should always be spoken with grace.
Practical Application:
Identify one area this week where you can stand firmly on God’s truth. Pray for the wisdom and courage to respond in a way that reflects both conviction and Christlike love.
2. Choose the LORD before every FALSE SAVIOR.
Pergamum was a city of temples. A church under pressure.
Revelation 2:14 ESV
Every IDOL promises what only JESUS can PROVIDE.
Q.What are some modern-day “false saviors” that compete for our trust?
Leader Prompt:
Help the group identify that idols aren’t just physical objects—they can be anything we look to for identity, security, purpose, or satisfaction instead of Christ.
Practical Application:
Prayerfully identify one area where you’ve been relying on something other than Jesus for fulfillment. This week, intentionally choose to trust and seek Him first in that area.
3. Choose God’s FAVOR over worldly PLEASURE.
Revelation 2:17 ESV
White stone can mean four things:
1. ACQUITTAL stone – white stones meant “NOT GUILTY”
2. ADMISSION stone – tickets to BANQUET.
3. VICTOR’S stone – ATHLETIC awards.
4. HIGH PRIEST stone – priestly AUTHORITY.
Q. Why is choosing God’s eternal favor over temporary worldly pleasure a sign of spiritual maturity, and what helps us keep an eternal perspective?
Leader Prompt:
Point the group to the promise behind the white stone in Revelation 2:17 ESV. Remind them that what God offers—forgiveness, acceptance, victory, and belonging—is far greater than anything the world can provide.
Practical Application:
When faced with a choice this week between temporary satisfaction and honoring God, choose the path that reflects your identity in Christ and remember the eternal rewards He has promised.
Sermon in a Sentence:
Christians refuse COMPROMISE because only Jesus
PROVIDES what the world merely PROMISES.
Closing Prayer:
Lord, thank You for speaking to us through Your Word. Help us to stand for truth, choose You over every false savior, and value Your favor above the temporary pleasures of this world. Give us the strength to live faithfully this week and to reflect Christ in every choice we make. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
