SATURDAY MORNING PRAYER AND 6:00 AM WORSHIP ON PAUSE THROUGH THE SUMMER.

NOTE:

Two opportunities to pray:

Leaders only: Please be available at the end of services to pray for those who come forward. If you are not actively serving during the service you are attending, make it a priority to head to the front when the invitation is given. Your presence matters!

North Attleboro Leaders and members: If you or any member of your group who currently serves is available, there is an opportunity to meet for prayer in the conference room off the break room during the second and third services.  Please see Doug and Joanie White or Felix Shyllon if you would like to be a part of that ministry.

Please note: if you have a member who is not currently serving and would like to be part of the prayer during the service team, please have them take the appropriate steps to become a serve team member.

NORTH ATTLEBORO

Prayer at the Altar – AFTER SERVICES

If possible, please make an effort to be at the altar after this service to pray for others.

Your presence makes a difference—thank you for serving!

**Please read all scripture in the ESV, unless otherwise noted.**

**The Leader prompts help you, as the leader, move the conversation along.**

Key Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:11-21

Fun Icebreaker

“What Do You See?”

Ask the group:
If you could instantly improve your vision in one area of life, what would it be?

Examples: seeing yourself more clearly, seeing people with more grace, seeing God’s purpose, seeing what matters most, seeing the future with less fear.

Opening Prayer

Lord, thank You for bringing us together. Help us to see You correctly, see people differently, see ourselves through Christ, and see the lost through Your eyes. Open our hearts to Your Word and help our thoughts become captive to Christ. Amen.

1. Captive Thoughts SEE GOD CORRECTLY.

2 Corinthians 5:11-15 ESV

2 Corinthians 5:10 ESV

1 Peter 1:15-16 ESV

Romans 14:12 ESV

2 Corinthians 5:14 ESV

Question:
What makes it difficult for people to see God correctly?

Leader Prompt:
Guide the group to think about how fear, past experiences, culture, or wrong beliefs can shape the way we view God. Encourage them to consider whether their view of God is being shaped more by Scripture or by their circumstances.

Practical Application:
This week, pay attention to one thought you have about God. Ask yourself, “Does this line up with who God reveals Himself to be in Scripture?”

2. Captive Thoughts SEE PEOPLE DIFFERENTLY.

2 Corinthians 5:16 ESV

Colossians 3:2 ESV

Question:
How does following Christ change the way we see other people?

Leader Prompt:
Encourage the group to talk about how easy it is to view people through frustration, assumptions, past hurt, or outward appearance. Point them back to the idea that captive thoughts help us see people through a renewed, Christ-centered perspective.

Practical Application:
Choose one person you have been viewing through frustration, judgment, or hurt. Pray this week for God to help you see them differently.

3. Captive Thoughts SEE OURSELVES THROUGH CHRIST.

2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV

Old Creation → In Christ →New Creation

Galatians 2:20 ESV

Question:
Why is it sometimes hard to see ourselves through Christ instead of through our past?

Leader Prompt:
Invite the group to reflect on the difference between remembering what God saved us from and continuing to identify ourselves by it. Help them focus on the truth that being in Christ changes how we understand who we are.

Practical Application:
Identify one old label, mindset, or identity that you need to stop agreeing with. Replace it with the truth of who you are in Christ.

4. Captive Thoughts SEE THE LOST THROUGH GOD’S EYES.

2 Corinthians 5:18-21 ESV

Remember which side of the cross you are on!

Psalms 139:21-22 ESV

Deuteronomy 30:7 ESV

Joshua 11:20 ESV

Matthew 5:43-45 ESV

Deuteronomy 28:24 ESV

Luke 23:34 ESV

Acts 7:60 ESV

Luke 19:10 ESV

1 John 4:16-17 ESV

Question:
What changes when we remember which side of the cross we are on?

Leader Prompt:
Help the group process the difference between seeing people as enemies and seeing them as people God wants to redeem. Encourage them to think about how the cross changes the way we respond to the lost.

Practical Application:
Pray for one person who does not know Christ. Ask God to help you see them through His eyes and look for one way to show them His love this week.

Sermon in a sentence:

The mind CAPTURED BY CHRIST begins to see WHAT CHRIST CAPTURED.

Question:
What area of your vision needs to be more captured by Christ right now?

Leader Prompt:
Encourage the group to reflect honestly on whether they need to see God, people, themselves, or the lost more clearly through Christ.

Practical Application:
Choose one area from tonight’s discussion and ask God to renew your thoughts and vision in that area this week.

Closing Prayer

Lord, thank You for reminding us that when our minds are captured by Christ, our vision begins to change. Help us to see You correctly, see people differently, see ourselves through Christ, and see the lost through Your eyes. Renew our thoughts, correct our vision, and help us live in a way that reflects the heart of Jesus. Amen.
