Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 15
Ice-breaker
Q: Breakfast for dinner or dinner for breakfast?
1. The Greatest Need: The Gospel of Jesus Christ
The world’s greatest need is to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
William Booth, founder of the Salvation Army, said these words: “I believe the dangers of the 20th century are this:
Religion Without The Holy Spirit
Sometimes, we get too organized in Church and don’t make room for the Holy Spirit. He is the Teacher who makes God real.
Christianity Without Christ
Forgiveness Without Repentance
People want to be forgiven but don’t want to repent.
Salvation Without Regeneration
Politics Without God
Heaven Without Hell
Many pastors say there is no such thing as hell.
Q. Can you share a recent example or personal experience where you noticed a false gospel being promoted, and discuss how the true Gospel contrasts with it?
2. The Everlasting Gospel
The Real Gospel:
1 Corinthians 15:3-8
– Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again.
– The Gospel is simple, unchanging, and everlasting.
– The Gospel is for everyone and never changes despite the world’s deceptions.
False Gospels: Beware of gospels that prioritize good works, social justice, prosperity, and no repentance or deny the reality of hell.
Romans 3:23
2 Corinthians 5:21
John 3:16
Q. What common misconceptions do people have about the Gospel, and how can we address them with the truth?
3. The Response to the Gospel
– Confess: Acknowledge that you are a sinner needing a Savior (Romans 10:9).
– Repent: Turn away from sin; repentance is essential for true transformation.
– Surrender: Place Jesus on the throne of your life; He must be Lord of all.
– Baptism: Follow the command of baptism as a public declaration of faith.
– Baptism of the Holy Spirit: Seek the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit for daily living.
Q. Why is repentance necessary to respond to the Gospel, and how does it change a person’s life?
4. The Result of Responding to the Gospel
– Accepted: You become part of the family of the living God.
– Forgiven: Your sins are removed as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12).
Q. How does understanding God’s forgiveness impact your daily life?
5. The Responsibility of the Gospel
–Receive the Gospel: If you have not already, today may be your last opportunity.
–Share the Gospel: The good news must be preached worldwide (Matthew 24:14).
–Be the Salt and Light: Christians have a tremendous responsibility to be a living testimony of the Gospel.
Q. In what ways can you be the salt and light in your community this week?
Scripture Meditation:
John 3:16 (ESV): “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Action Item: Pray for discernment and study the scriptures to strengthen your understanding of the true Gospel.
Pray for each other, the lost, your communities, leaders, and governemnt
