We did not gather as a church in our buildings on Sunday out of respect of our authorities who asked us not to gather in large groups over 200.
The Coronavirus is not a spiritual attack. Jesus said there will be famines, wars, and plagues, etc. Do not be alarmed as a Christian. We live in a fallen world and things like this are going to happen.
The positive side is that we belong to a church that embraces modern technology. We are not going to skip a beat as we will have church online.
Legacy Offering – pray about what God puts on your heart to give above and beyond your current tithes and offerings. What will be our legacy? To leave behind Gospel-Preaching, LIfe-Giving churches around the world.
We have an offer on a church in Bradenton Florida, we are planting a church in fall river, we have one starting in Guatemala. This is what we are giving to when we give to this mission. We will also tithe the legacy offering money as a church, ten percent will go to missions. We are partnering with an organization to pay off medical debt. We are giving ten percent to this organization to pay off millions of dollars of medical debt in South Eastern Mass and Rhode Island!
We can give our tithes and offerings online by clicking either of these links below:

When we catch God’s vision for money, we can get excited about the spirit of money management.
Luke 16 is one of the most ignored parables because right before this parable is one of the most popular parables – the Prodigal Son. This parable was not only about the prodigal son but about the older son who did not understand that it was about finding those that are lost.
Luke 15:1–3 (ESV)
The tax collectors and sinners were the ‘prodigals’ coming to Jesus. God’s heart is for the lost to be found and be saved from their sins.
Luke 16:14 (ESV)
Pharisees were lovers of money. Religious people don’t get the idea that God loves the lost and his heart is for those who are far from Him. God wants us to do whatever it takes to win people to Christ.
Luke 15-16 Theme: Manage money in a way that EMPOWERS you to make an ETERNAL DIFFERENCE in PEOPLE.
Q. How has the way you have managed your money empowered you to help make an eternal difference?
The SPIRIT of Money Management:
- I am the MANAGER, God is the OWNER and money is the TOOL.
Luke 16:1 (ESV)
The Master is God.
Psalm 24:1 (ESV)
All we have belongs to God, He is the owner, we manage it. We think that God is the tool and we are the owners and money is the manager. However, we are caretakers of God’s stuff and he owes us nothing.
Q. How have you allowed your possessions to manage your life instead of you managing what God gave you?
2. MANAGEMENT of God’s MONEY is TEMPORARY
Luke 16:2-4 (ESV)
Money can ruin a person, it can destroy someones life.
Q. Do you get anxious about money; have you ever been afraid you would lose your job or lose money and why?
Proverbs 20:21 ESV
We need to think long-term about money so that we will have a plan when it comes to an end.
Come to terms with your temporariness before your temporariness comes to terms with you.
We need to be doing things today that will benefit us tomorrow. We should be living like Jesus is coming today and plan like He is not coming for another forty years. Don’t YOLO (you live only once). We should get busy with our resources to do things that matter for our good and so we can help others.
Q. What are some ways you have planned for your future (investing, 401K , etc.,)., if you have not, how can you start?
Verse 3: “And the manager said to himself, ‘What shall I DO…?”
The manager did not blame anyone. He did not complain about his management being taken away. He did not point fingers and blame others.
Q. Have you blamed others for your poor management of money/possessions and why?
3. MANAGING God’s MONEY is a STEP-by-STEP PROCESS.
Luke 16:5 (ESV)
This man devised a plan to secure his future. He did this step by step.
EVERY PAY PERIOD, is an OPPORTUNITY to STEP FOWARD or BACKWARD.
10/10/80
TITHING (10)
Proverbs 3:9–10 (ESV)
Tithing is to your local church. God first and the rest is blessed. We cannot argue against the tithe it is what God has put in His word. We can’t pick and choose whether we are comfortable with it or not, it is what He says.
SAVING (10)
Proverbs 14:8 (NLT)
INVESTMENT ties me to my FUTURE. DEBT ties me to my PAST.
Debt is from our past. We go to the store and buy something on credit then pay later. Instant pleasure will make us happy but now we are paying for it. We should want to run from debt because Jesus uses the word ‘debt’ to refer to our sins in Matthew 6:12.
We should give our future self money to be empowered to help the world around us.
3. STEWARDING (80)
Romans 13:8 (ESV) Proverbs 27:23 (ESV)
After we have put the 10 percent for tithing and the 10 percent for saving, we have 80 percent to spend. We should first pay our bills with this 80 percent. Stewarding is reconciling our checking accounts and knowing what we have to spend on what we need or want.
Q. Do you fear opening your bills or looking at your checking account and why?
Luke 16:5–8 (ESV)
The Master commends the man for his stewardship. Sometimes, non-Christians manage their money for what is important to them more than Christians. God wants us to learn their way for the next life. We need to learn to see money God’s way.
Q. If you are not doing the 10/10/80, how can you start on a smaller scale?
4. MANAGING God’s MONEY is an ETERNAL ISSUE.
God loves all the He made and everything about us is spiritual.
Luke 16:9 (ESV)
A. ETERNITY STARTS NOW.
Luke 16:10 (ESV)
B. PEOPLE are God’s ETERNAL TREASURE.
Luke 16:11-12 (ESV)
C. GOD MUST be my ETERNAL MASTER.
Luke 16:13-14 (ESV)
Our righteous wealth is money. The true riches are people. We cannot serve God and money. We serve whoever talks the loudest. We need to tell money to be quiet. We are servants of God, His word should have authority over our lives.
Q. If you are not managing money to make an eternal difference, how can you start now?
Someone said You are important to God and invested in the Church. We are here because someone invested in us!
