We offer two types of classes.  Please familiarize yourself with what these classes are about.  Feel free to sign up for one so you can better explain what they are to your group members.
Starting Point: What is Christianity all about? Is the Bible really more than just a book? Who is Jesus? No matter where we are in life, we all have questions. Starting Point is a great place to explore the faith and have safe and open discussions about some of life’s toughest questions.
Growth Track:  In this 3 part class; Discover, Deepen, & Dedicate; you will get answers to the most frequently asked questions about Waters Church and have an opportunity to ask your own. This is the perfect place to get to know the “Why” behind the “What” of who we are as a church.

THREE STORMS IN THE WILDERNESS:
Icebreaker question:
What is a famous storm you remember
God brings storms in and enters the storm.  He goes into it before us.  Jesus went into the wilderness for forty days.  He was tempted by Satan, but Jesus had taken care of him and God made a way for us through Jesus.  God was intentional about the universe and the galaxies and how he would rescue us.  He has put eternity in our hearts.  God is for life and Satan is for death.
Key Verse: Matthew 4:1-11
After the forty days in the wilderness, Jesus was prepared for battle.  God gives us victory in the wilderness.
Q.  What was  a storm you had been through or perhaps going through and and how has God given you the victory in it?
WHAT DOES YOUR PRAYER REVEAL ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP?
This is how we should pray. Jesus modeled for us how to pray.  We should glorify our Father first.  We should not put anything before God in our life and Jesus will give us the victory.
1. SATAN SOWS DOUBT ABOUT OUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST.
Matthew 4:3 NLT (read earlier in the key verse).
“Turn the stone into bread:’ Two voices always speaking.  God and Satan.
The food meant survival.  If you did not have bread, you died.  The bread was life.   We are blessed in America with bounty and it could become our idol, but God provides it.
God allowed them to go hungry and then sent manna to show them they must rely on Him and his word.  Satan is constantly trying to get us to believe we are not who God says we are.
Q. How has Satan sown seeds of doubt in your life about who you are in Christ?
(John made the analogy about praying.  Some people may not pray aloud because they hear someone else pray and think not good enough).
2. SATAN ENCOURAGES OUR STRIVING UNBELIEF.
Matthew 4:5 (read in the key verse)
‘Jump from the Temples highest point’ – Holy of holies
Satan tries to get Jesus to jump from the temple.  Jesus is the Temple.  Satan tries to get us to ‘jump’ too.
God’s plan from the beginning is that Jesus would come and crush the head of Satan.  There are always two voices, and one seems to get louder than the other but God’s voice is always right.
Q. How has Satan tried to move you away from Jesus, what are some situations that may have prompted you to question who God is?
3. SATAN OFFERS FAME FOR WORSHIP.
Matthew 4:8 (read in the key verse)
Satan would usurp God’s throne.
Satan offers us fame and glory if we worship him.  He wants us to worship him since the beginning.
That was Lucifer speaking before he was kicked out of heaven, before he became Satan.  He is The devil, the tempter.
This is the  end of the Lord’s prayer, the temptation that is driving us crazy – Jesus tells us to pray that for God not to let us yield to temptation.
John had spoken about finding glory in doing communion.  He was tempted to receive God’s glory for himself.
Q. In what area of your life have you been tempted to receive God’s glory for yourself?
PRAYER FOR EACH OTHER, THE LOST, NIGHT TO SHINE – WEATHER AND HEALTH OF VOLUNTEERS ETC., WOONSOCKET  AS WE COME CLOSE TO SIGNING ON A LEASE TO A PERMANENT LOCATION AND OTHER UPCOMING CAMPUSES THE ROOF AS IT HAS SEVERAL LEAKS AND WILL COST MUCH $$ TO REPLACE , THE CHURCH, THE NATION AND LEADERS AND GUATEMALA MISSION.
