Why Jesus is the Answer
Everything we need in our life is found in the Revelation of Jesus Christ
No matter what we are going through, Jesus loves us. He is the answer. Everything we need in life is found in the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Key Verse: 1 Peter 1:10-16
All prophets of the Old Testament were prophesying of the grace to come to us in this generation. They prophesied that favor was coming to us permanently through the person of Jesus Christ. Grace is God’s design. It was always God’s plan right from the beginning.
Grace is favor. Grace is unmerited, undeserved favor.
Theme: When I have the grace (favor) of God on my life, everything I need will come.
Q. When have you received something good (other than salvation) that was unmerited (like a promotion, raise or something else)? When have you had favor on others and why?
Grace came to us through a Person, His name is Jesus.
- THE MORE OF JESUS I SEE, THE MORE GRACE (FAVOR) IS BEING BROUGHT TO ME.
When Jesus is in our lives, the favor of God comes upon us.
We want favor and peace to be multiplied. Favor will transform our lives, it comes from the knowledge of Jesus Christ. It is not ‘do more’, that is religion. It is to see more. To have Him reveal to us who He is. He has given us all things that pertain to life such as protection, well being, family through the knowledge of Himself.
Q. In your personal walk with Christ, do you have a better understanding of who God is from when you first received Him into your life and what are some examples you can share of how He is transforming your life as you grow in the knowledge of who He is?
“Every miracle Jesus performed is either preceded by or followed up by a declaration of who He is” (same Person, different unveiling)”
He reveals Himself as a compassionate healer through all situations. He hears the cries of the oppressed. Every time the children of Israel were in need, Jesus revealed Himself in a fresh way.
Q. What are some of the different and new ways (or fresh ways) God reveals himself to you?
2. GOD CALLS US OBEDIENT CHILDREN WHEN WE HAVE TRUST IN THE FAVOR THAT COMES AT THE REVELATION OF CHRIST.
He calls us obedient when we are trusting Him for favor.
Q. Why do we sometimes, trust God for one thing but not another? Can you give an example of where you had trusted God in one area of your life, but even though you know who He is and what He as done, you still have trouble in other areas trusting Him?
3. IF I KEEP MY EYES ON JESUS AND HIS FINISHED WORK, I WILL LIVE A FRUITFUL AND SUCCESSFUL CHRISTIAN LIFE.
When we as Christians do not display these qualities our prognosis is that we have forgotten about Jesus and are blind to the cross. We get spiritual glaucoma. We can focus on other things and lose focus on Jesus.
Q. What is an example where you may have lost your focus on Jesus and forgot about His mercy and grace?
The beauty of the Gospel is the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ. The more of Jesus we know, the more favor He brings into our lives.
*Whatever I need, the more of Jesus I see, grace (favor) will come into my life, and grace (favor) will bring all things that pertain to life and godliness.
