11 Nov “Facing a Giant Problem” | Pastor Geyser
Night To Shine:
Registration is still done through waterschurch.nighttoshine.com however, we have changed the Background check company and are going forward with Checkr on Planning Center. After a person registers they will receive a welcome message and then an Invitation from Planning Center to perform their BCI. The cost is still $12. If the registrant does not receive an email with the invite, please let them know to check their Spam or Junk Mail folder.
PLEASE NOTE: EVEN IF YOU CURRENTLY VOLUNTEER AT WATERS THE BACKGROUND CHECK IS STILL NECESSARY AND IS NOT AN OPTION. PLEASE PASS THIS INFO ALONG TO YOUR GROUP MEMBERS. SINCE THIS EVENT IS A TTF (TIM TEBOW FOUNDATION) EVENT AND NOT A WATERS CHURCH EVENT IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT EACH VOLUNTEER PERFORM THIS CHECK. SINCE WE ARE SELF-FUNDING THIS EVENT, YOUR HELP IN PAYING THE COST OF YOUR BCI IS VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!
Team Night: Come on out to team night this Thursday! It starts at 6:30. Learn some new things! No need to register or commit to anything, just show up.

Key Verse: 1 Samuel 17
Life is full of problems. We can see from the book of Job that trouble has been around since the beginning. Right from the beginning of his life, David faced many problems including the rejection of his own father.
God chose David to become the King of Israel when he was about 16 years of age, however it took many years until he was able to reign as King. Noah waited 120 years before the Flood, Moses waited 40 years in the wilderness, and Israel waited 400 years for deliverance from Egypt. Sometimes we have to wait upon the Lord. It was in the private part of David’s life that God shaped and molded him into the man He wanted him to be. That is how God sometimes deals with us.
Q. What giant problem might you be currently facing where it seems that you have been waiting a long time for God to move?
4 Things David Did When Facing the Giant:
1. HE REPLACED FEAR WITH FAITH.
The bible says that fear torments us, it paralyzes us. We need to replace our fears with faith in God.
If we have faith, we can go places and do things in the name of the Lord. We need to ask God for help and apply His word.
THE MOSTE EFFECTIVE TOOL THE DEVIL HAS IS FEAR.
Q. What fears paralyze you and why? What passages from scripture might you turn to for comfort?
2. HE REFUSED TO BE DISCOURAGED.
David was rebuked by his brothers. They tried to discourage him. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).
JESUS WILL NEVER FAIL US.
Q. Who has tried to discourage you from what you believed God was calling you to? How did you handle this discouragement?
3. HE REMEMBERED PAST VICTORIES.
David remembered the battles he won against the wild animals that tried to kill his sheep. We too, need to remember Jesus’ victory.
We need to handle the small things so we can deal with the big things.
Q. What past victories (or small things) have helped (or are currently helping) you face your Giant?
(Where you can say ‘God helped me through that, He can surely get me through this’)
AS CHRISTIANS WE CAN HAVE VICTORY OVER OUR PROBLEMS.
4. HE REJOICED IN ADVANCE OF THE VICTORY.
David ran out to meet Goliath already praising God and rejoicing in the victory he was going to experience.
Q. What can you praise God for in advance knowing that He is able to deliver you?
GOD WILL DELIVER YOU FROM FEAR; NO MATTER WHAT COMES INTO YOUR LIFE, NO MATTER WHAT SATAN PUTS IN FRONT OF YOU.
REJOICE!
