Trunk or Treat – Please start thinking about your Group’s theme! I have added a registration page to PCO (Planning Center Online) for each Campus. Once you have picked out your theme, you can register your group. PLEASE NOTE: Only one person (leader or apprentice) per group needs to register.

Team Nights: You are being invited to Team Nights! You and your group members are encouraged to come join us! Team Nights are held once a month on Thursday evenings at 6:30p. The next one is on Oct 11. Team nights are a great way to learn the ‘how’ behind what goes on here at Waters Church! You can even get ‘hands on’ experience and collaborate with our team members. A typical night would be to arrive at 6:30 and enjoy some food and fellowship until 6:45p. This will be followed by a short worship set and message. Next, you can take part in a break out session of your choice! Is there something that you always wanted to try but were afraid? Don’t be! Our media team creative team and Kids team are available to show you around and give you some hands-on with our equipment! Lights, cameras, sound, worship? Get a behind the scenes look into what we do here to make the Weekend Experience come alive! The evening will end with more fellowship and snacks and officially goes until 9:00p but of course you don’t have to stay until the end. There is no sign-up or registration required, just show up! Make a night of it with your group. Leaders, this is a great way to get your members to understand how Waters works and to get those that are not serving, to serve. It is also a great way for you to try something you have never done before but always wanted to! Team Nights are available to all campuses!

You can identify people by what they are wearing. Police officers, doctors and even in our church we wear different shirts for different ministries. Fake news tells you: Clothes make the man, dress for success (dress for the job you want not the job you have).
Q. What is the nicest suit or outfit you have ever worn?
AS A CITIZEN OF HEAVEN I NEED A NEW WARDROBE!
When you are new Christian, it is like start a new job and you have to get a new outfit and put it on to start that new job. Some of us might be long-time Christians but are still wearing our old clothes, still walking in our old nature and we don’t know how to throw that off and put on our new clothes in Christ.
1. WHAT I THINK ABOUT I WILL EVENTUALLY ACT ON.
We should seek things that are above.
Rid yourself of your old clothes, old thoughts and old desires!
Paul is saying we are to ‘put to death’ these old clothes. Lay them down for good and do not put them back on.
Q. What are some ‘old clothes’ that you keep putting back on and why?
TWO ACTIONS:
1. TAKE OFF.
2. PUT ON.
TAKE OFF YOUR OLD CLOTHES!
- Sexual immorality = Sex outside of marriage.
- Impurity = Lustful thoughts.
- Passion = Strong desire for illicit sex.
- Evil Desire = Intense urge for immorality.
- Covetousness – The cause of evil desire is covetousness. Evil desire leads to passion which leads to impurity and then sexual immorality.
Q. What do you do with your old clothes? BRING THEM IN DURING THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 1 (MON – THUR 9:00a to 4:30p!
2. THOUGHTS LEAD TO ACTION, ACTION LEADS TO IDENTITY.
Anger leads to wrath, wrath leads to malice, malice leads to slander and slander leads to obscene talk from your mouth.
Take off your old clothes and put them all away. What we do matters in this life. We need to put to death sexual sin, wrong attitudes, evil speech and deception.
Q. What thoughts have you had that became an action where then you began to identify with that action ? (An example is what Paul talks about above; anger leads to obscene talk. One who has angry thoughts may identify as an obscene talker).
THE WRATH OF GOD HAS TWO TYPES:
1. Passive wrath of God (which is meant for Christians). He can give us over to some sin because we keep going back to that sin. We are not listening so he will give us over to it so we will come back to Him. An example would be the Prodigal Son.
2. Active wrath of God is all creation that is separated from Him.
Q. What passive wrath of God have you encountered?
3. A LOVING FATHER DISCIPLINES HIS CHILDREN.
There are consequences to our bad actions.

Q. What consequences have you faced or perhaps your children have faced because of bad actions or choices?
NOW GET DRESSED!
4. YOU ARE SAVED BY GRACE, YOU ARE A CHOSEN PEOPLE, YOU ARE SET APART, YOU ARE DEARLY LOVED.
This motivation for a wardrobe change.
Now get dressed! Put on:
Compassionate Hearts, Kindness, Humility, Meekness, Patience, Forgiveness, Love and Thankfulness.
My new wardrobe in Christ has:
1. Clothes that will never go out of style!
2. Clothes for my new character!
3. Clothes for my Christ character!
Q. If you consistently set your sights on Christ and heaven, how would your life be different?
FAKE NEWS: “You can’t wear white after Labor Day!”
GOD SAYS: Put white on every day!
