So many times the church suffers from identity crisis. It doesn’t know what it exists for. In our society, the church has lost site of what the church is called to do and that is to share the message of Jesus with every person on earth.
Theme: GOD WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO MAKE HIS MESSAGE HEARD AND SO SHOULD WE.
The people in the Book of Acts did not stop sharing the message. Nothing stopped them from sharing the Gospel and we owe a debt of gratitude to them. Our country desperately needs to hear it especially today with what is going on in the world. Celebrities taking their own live, those at the top of their professions who had everything they wanted and were still empty. Jesus talked about this (Matthew 6:26). You can have everything and still lose your soul.
Q. What do you fear the most in your attempts to share this message with others and why?
Even non-Christians agree that people need community, meaning and purpose. In the Gospel, God gives us all three things so we can live for Him. No matter what mankind does, God is going to make His message move on!
1. GOD HEALS AND RESTORES LIVES IN ORDER TO SHARE THE MESSAGE.
The church exists to proclaim a message: the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Many of us were messed up before coming to church. What God does in our lives is not for us to be happier, it is a testimony to show the world that Jesus is real. Some of us needed a healing. Some may argue with you to get you off track, but your testimony cannot be argued. People get healed, but not everyone gets healed. The message is the main event, not the healing.
Q. A great way to share the Gospel with others is through your own testimony; has anyone ever tried to argue your testimony and how did you respond? If this turned out to be a negative experience, how could you handle it differently the next time?
2. GOD DISPATCHES ANGLES TO HELP SHARE THE MESSAGE.
The angels break them out of prison with a purpose: to do what God called them to do. Angels are ministers of the Gospel and they are here to help us preach the message of Jesus.
Angles are servants to assure people get saved. Angels get excited when people get saved. They are powerful and are empowered by God to help us. If we want angels with us, we need to be partnering with what God wants us to do. If we give our life to the cause, angels will come around. Be the church and God will protect us. Angels have a purpose which is to help us share the gospel!
Q. What has been your perception of the role of angels? Do you have an example of how angels have worked on your behalf because you were obedient to the cause of Christ?
3. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE OPPOSITION TO SHARING THE MESSAGE.
The problem they had was not with the healings but of the teachings. When we get further away from the message, we get further away from the benefits of God. This is true in our world today.This goes all the way back to Pharoah; the Philistines; the Babylonians etc. With great power comes great pride. The message is what brings life. Many times Satan uses governments to stop the message. The message of Jesus brings freedom to people. Those who know this try to stop the message from being preached to people.
Q. What are some of the ways our society today tries to further themselves from God; what forms opposition do you experience and how do you respond to them?
4. THE CHURCH MUST SHARE THE MESSAGE NO MATTER WHAT.
We also must obey God rather than men.
IF YOU AREN’T HELPING US SHARE THE MESSAGE.
1. I CAN GIVE (tithing, Kingdom builders).
2. I CAN SERVE (be the church booth, sign up to serve).
3. I CAN PRAY (that the message can go further and father).
4. I CAN INVITE PEOPLE TO CHURCH.
CHALLENGE: PRAY FOR SOMEONE’S SALVATION.
GOD IS RADICALLY COMMITTED TO GETTING THE MESSAGE OUT AND SO SHOULD WE.
PRAY FOR EACH OTHER, THE LOST, THE CHURCH, WOONSOCKET, NEW CHURCH PLANTS, NEW ENGLAND CHURCHES AND PASTORS, LEADERS AND GOVERNMENT.
